Gone are the days of the "shade tree mechanic." Today, automobiles, engines, and air conditioning systems are controlled by computers. Therefore, the automotive repair industry is in need of exceptional, well educated professionals to keep up with the changing demands for service technicians, service managers, and repair facility owners. By the successful completion of this class, students will be qualified for an entry level position at an automotive dealership. Furthermore, successful people in the automotive industry recognize the significance of strong skills in math, science, history, and formal communication because they are embedded within this field. This course will incorporate these academic areas to strengthen and promote problem solving and independent thinking skills required of employees in the automotive industry.
